Perhaps the highlight of our time in Shanghai was being able to witness (and briefly join) the hundreds of couples ballroom dancing in Zhongshan Park. There was one main group, and a couple of satellite clusters, each dancing, as it were, to the beat of their own drum.
Further along a younger group were practising hip hop.
The whole thing was joyous and beautiful and slightly surreal.
Learning to dance is back on the bucket list, so watch out Geoffrey!
